Congratulations!
Congratulations are in order for Dorothy Martin, Grace Moore, who was chosen to receive the Scenic City Optimist Club award this year. Dorothy sang at their annual meeting which was held at the Choo Choo this past Friday and impressed everyone with her lovely voice. Congratulations, Dorothy!
Winter Concert Videos
We are taking early orders for the video of the winter concert "A Garland of Carols". Both VHS and DVD are available for $12.00. If you would like to order a video, please sign up at the table in the Fellowship Hall during rehearsal or call the choir office.

Saturday, December 4 (12-6 p.m.) and Sunday, December 5 (1-6 p.m.) - Barnes and Noble
Barnes and Noble, in the Hamilton Place Mall area, has asked us to wrap Christmas presents in their store. We will have a box for donations and the Girls Choir will keep the donations. This is a great time for the girls and their parents to get in the holiday spirit and also to publicize the choir. Sign up sheet is in the Fellowship Hall at the tables. For this event please wear one of the CGC shirts.
December 6 - Cantilena Choir
The Cantilena Choir will perform at Alexian Grove Retirement Center directly following the regularly scheduled Monday rehearsal at First Baptist Church. The girls should be picked up at the regular time (6:00 p.m.) and transported to the Retirement Center. Wardrobe for this event will be khaki pants and a new CGC t-shirt to be issued before that time. The short concert will begin at 6:30 and should not last more than one half hour.
Travel Directions - To travel to Alexian Grove from First Baptist Church will take approximately 15 minutes. Take Hwy 24 West (direction Nashville) to the Lookout Valley exit. Turn right onto Cummings Hwy and follow until the State Hwy Patrol Station on left. Turn left directly after the Station onto Cummings Road. Take Cummings Road until the entrance to Alexian Grove on the left. Turn left and left again at the guard house and go up the hill. Enter the building at the front alcove entrance. We will meet in the lobby. We will get organized and warm up there and begin the performance at about 6:30.
Monday, December 6 -Concert Choir
Parents need to leave First Baptist with their daughters at 6:10 p.m. to travel to Northgate Mall. Call time is 6:45 p.m. with the performance at 7:00 p.m. Dress is red CGC polos, khaki pants, and white tennis shoes and socks
Wednesday, December 8 - Concert Choir
Share Your Christmas, 6:00 - 7:00 a.m. This event is sponsored by Channel 3 and will be held outside in front of the Theatre Center roundabout in the Coolidge Park area. In case of bad weather, the Theatre Center is offering their lobby as a back-up. Dress is khaki pants, red CGC polo shirts, and white tennis shoes and socks.
Saturday, December 11 - Concert/Bella Vocé
Rock City's Festival of Lights
We will meet at the main entrance to Rock City at 5:30 p.m. Singers will enter the park and see the exhibit the first part of the tour. We will sing under the white tent at approximately 6:00, repeating our music at about 6:45. After that singers will be free to tour the remainder of the grounds or exit and leave. Parents and singers will get ONE free pass. You must STAND IN LINE to redeem the pass, so get your pass when you arrive and then get in line to enter the park. Since the program will be sung twice you will have no trouble in hearing your child at least once. Parents please, do not sit in the tent the entire evening. Give the other guests a chance to hear the girls. Dress is red CGC polo shirt, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes and socks.
Thursday, December 16 - ALL CHOIRS
Dress Rehearsal at the Tivoli. 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. Time breakdowns for each choir will be announced later. Girls should arrive in formal black concert dress, shoes, and hose. Pictures will be made at this time. Orders will be taken after the holidays
Friday, December 17 - ALL CHOIRS
A Garland of Carols concert, Tivoli Theatre, 7:30 p.m. Call time for the girls to be announced. Formal concert attire.
Tuesday, December 21 - Concert Choir
Concert Choir will perform for the Kiwanis Club at the Read House. Call time is 11:45 a.m. Performance is 12:30 p.m. Dress is khaki pants, red CGC polo shirt, white tennis shoes and socks.
Volunteer Opportunities
Parents, please help us out and volunteer to be an usher, backstage chaperone, or help with the riser crew.
Lea and Carl Martin need help on December 16 from 10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. with the setting up the stage at the Tivoli. Call the choir office if you can help.
Wanted...Lea is in need of lawn reindeer to borrow for the winter stage. Please contact her if you have some you can loan to her.

For only $25.00 a family can put a personal message in the concert program booklet for their singer. This also counts toward your fundraising requirement.
