Please note the following events:
- Friday, January 30 Attention, all Chattanooga Girls choir members! It's Lock-In time at the North River YMCA on Hixson Pike. We'll swim (from midnight until 2:00 am!), play basketball and raquetball, and lots more. Snack food and drinks will be provided. All you have to bring is: a swimsuit, towel, sleeping bag and pillow. Drop-off time is midnight. Pick-up time is the following morning at 6:00 am. PLEASE NOTE: FOR SECURITY REASONS, WE MUST HAVE A LIST OF THOSE PLANNING TO ATTEND. IF YOU WISH TO ATTEND THE EVENT, YOU MUST CALL THE CHOIR OFFICE BY NO LATER THAN THURSDAY, JANUARY 29. We look forward to seeing you there. PARENTS: If you wish to stay the night and help us chaperone, we would love to have you. If you cannot stay but would be willing to provide some snacks and drinks, we would welcome your help in this area too. Just bring them along when you drop off your daughter.
- Tuesday, February 10. The CGC, the Boys Choir and the UTC Department of Music will host the famed St. Olaf Choir from St. Olaf College, Minnesota. There will be opportunities for girls to host two of the singers in their home. A sign-up sheet will be available at the table in the fellowship hall during the next Monday night rehearsal (2/2). This is one of the premiere choirs in the U.S. and a group of community people have worked very hard to bring them here to us. Tickets will also be available for sale at the table. This concert WILL sell-out, so get your tickets early!!
Sunday, February 15, Valentine's Concert
For Chattanooga Music Club, Grace Moore Singers, 3:00 p.m., location to be announced.
- School Concerts. We will be scheduling school concerts for all of the choirs to sing in local schools in late February or early March. These will take place during school hours and will require singers to miss a half-day of school. Excuses will be provided to you.
April 30 - May 2, Concert Choir contest and mini-tour.
The Concert Choir will travel to Gatlinburg, Tennessee to participate in the Smoky Mountains Music Festival. The choir will be judged and ranked by a panel of 3 adjudicators. This is a REQUIRED event for ALL singers in the Concert Choir. Details will follow in the next few weeks.
- May 3-6, Collaborarion with Ballet Tennessee by the Grace Moore Singers, Roland Hayes Auditorium, UTC.
May 13 and 14, Spring Dress Rehearsal and CONCERT, First Baptist Church.
- June 21-July 1 - Summer Tour to Chicago
Get Your Ticket NOW! For the St. Olaf Choir performance here at First Baptist Church. ALL Concert Choir and Grace Moore Singers should be there and everyone is encouraged to attend. This is one of the (if not THE) premiere college choirs in the U.S. and a program you don't want to miss. A special opportunity-the Grace Moore Singers will be led in a short rehearsal at 5:00 p.m. on the 10th by Dr. Anton Armstrong, Conductor of the St. Olaf Choir. This is a required performance for Grace Moore girls. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for student. You must pay in advance, making checks to "St. Olaf Concert" at the CGC table on rehearsal night. You may also get tickets at the First Baptist office on Tuesdays and Fridays. Get your friends together-every 5 student tickets comes with one free chaperone ticket!!!
