Written by Branden Schwartz (Nicole's husband)

We have had a very interesting beginning to our journey, to say the least! After checking our luggage in Atlanta, we boarded our 2:10 flight to New York. After landing at JFK Airport 30 minutes ahead of schedule, we sat in our plane on the tarmac, unable to enter the terminal, for more than 2 hours due to weather and air traffic control issues. Needless to say, we did not make our 6:30 flight to Shannon, Ireland. When we finally were allowed to deplane at JFK, we rounded up our luggage and headed for Terminal 4 to catch the 9:45 p.m. flight that Aer Lingus had now put us on. We boarded right on time only to sit on the tarmac for another 3 hours before taking off! We were now flying to Dublin to connect to a flight to Shannon, but as luck would have it, we ended up missing our connecting flight to Shannon due to the delays at JFK.
