The Chattanooga Girls Choir was accepted to participate in the Golden Gate International Children's Choral Festival in San Francisco this summer (http://www.piedmontchoirs.org/festival.lasso). This year's participants include children's choirs from Austria, China, and Benin (Africa), as well as from Minnesota, California, and Washington. Participating choirs will perform in the local community, enter competitions in historical, folk, and/or contemporary categories, and join the other choirs in rehearsing and performing common songs.

| Sun., June 25: | Leave Chattanooga at 5:00 a.m. by bus from First Baptist Church.
Travel by bus to Atlanta airport for Delta flight #445, departing Atlanta at 9:00 a.m. EDT and arriving in San Francisco at 11:12 a.m PDT. Check into Four Points Sheraton in Emeryville. Sightsee. |
| Mon., June 26: | Sightseeing: Lombard Street, Alcatraz prison, Fisherman's Wharf.
Choral Festival begins at LDS Interstake Center. Conductor's reception in the evening. |
| Tue., June 27: | Mass choir rehearsal all morning.
Bag lunch and games in gym. 3:00 - Sing in Exhibition Concert. Sing for judges. |
| Wed., June 28: | Mass choir rehearsal all morning.
Take bus to Jack London Square for lunch, followed by bay cruise on Hornblower yacht. Return to Jack London Square for dinner. Sing in evening Community Competition concert at First Congregational Church in Berkley. |
| Thur., June 29: | Mass choir rehearsal all morning.
Bag lunch and games in gym. Walk Golden Gate Bridge and see redwoods in Muir Woods park. Dinner in Alameda. Sing in evening community concert at St. Joseph's Basilica in Alameda. |
| Fri., June 30: | Mass choir rehearsal all morning.
Walk to Joaquin Miller Park for Festival Picnic. (Conductors go to Conductors' Banquet.) Return to hotel by 5:00. |
| Sat., July 1: | Rehearsal in the morning at Skyline High School auditorium.
Extra rehearsal for competition winners. Free time in afternoon. Sing in evening Closing Concert. Closing party until 11 p.m. |
| Sun., July 2: | Leave San Francisco on Delta flight #886, departing at 1:57 p.m. PDT
and arriving in Atlanta at 9:29 p.m. EDT. Travel by bus from Atlanta to First Baptist Church in Chattanooga. Estimated arrival: Sunday evening at midnight, if all goes smoothly in Atlanta. |
