Day 4
Thursday, June 24, 2004
[Note from Amy: This report was e-mailed by Tarbell Patton from Milwaukee. Thanks to Sharon and Lauren for the photos!]
This morning, we packed up and loaded the bus, which thankfully started with no problem. We dropped our guide Sherry off at O'Hare, and then drove up to Milwaukee to pick up our new guides, Jack and Audrey. We then proceeded to Miller Park for a game between the Brewers and the Rockies. Unfortunately, the Brewers lost, but our own Ashley Chandler ended up with a ball. It ricocheted off the tier above us and hit her in the back of the head. Kinney Billingsley picked it up, but gave it back to Ashley since she was the one it hit.
After the game, we headed back to check in to the hotel, and then went back downtown to Joey Buonas, an Italian restaurant near the lake. We thought we were going to have a simple buffet of salad and pizza, but were quite surprised when they kept bringing in dish after dish of bread, pizza, pasta, and salad, and then topped it off with homemade chocolate chip cookies. We had to walk around the block before we got back on the bus, just to help our food settle. We are now back at the hotel, and the girls are in the swimming pool. After swimming, they will be giving back massages in one of the girls' rooms. They are really getting along great, and seem to enjoy each other's company.
[Added on 6/25] Our incoming artistic director, LuAnn Holden, also had to leave the group this morning to fly back to Tennessee. She had been with the tour since they left Chattanooga and had a chance to get to know the girls better, and they her. She seemed to really enjoy the whole experience, and the girls are looking forward to working with her in the fall.
This is the view the group had at Miller Field for the Brewers game.
The girls enjoyed a fantastic Italian meal.
Beth REALLY enjoyed a fantastic Italian meal!
