Wardrobe:
WARDROBE REQUIREMENTS HAVE JUST BEEN ISSUED.
For a copy of the wardrobe handout, click here.
(Note: requires the free Adobe Acrobat reader, available at the Adobe web site.)
Tour Information handed out on May 5, 2003:
* Luggage Dimensions:
The airline limits the checked piece of luggage to 62 inches(height + length + width)
and 70 lbs. The carry-on piece is limited to 42 inches (height + length + width)
and 20 lbs. Since 9/11/01, if the carry-on is over this size they will take it from
you at the gate and check it in. Each person is allowed one check piece and one
carry-on due to the motorcoach size in Europe.
* Medical Release Form:
I forgot to include the section for having the Medical Release Form notarized. Please
copy your information to the new form and have it notarized before returning it to me.
These forms must be completed and given to Tarbell by Monday, May 12th. When these forms
are turned in, you should also include a copy of your current insurance card.
* Immunizations:
For travel vaccinations, the following are recommended: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and
Typhoid. These are just recommendations and not requirements. There are NO requirements
for travel into Austria, Germany or the Czech Republic. Everyone should have had a tetanus
booster within the past 10 years. If it has been more than 10 years they should have this
booster. This is a standard recommendation, not just for travel.
* Wardrobe:
A copy of the wardrobe requirements was handed out on Monday, May 5th.
* Passport/Insurance Card:
You will need to have your passport, and an original insurance card to Tarbell no later
than Friday, May 30th. We do not want anyone showing up on the morning of June 6th without
a passport or insurance card.
* Spending Money:
The following is the recommendation of the tour company:
"Regarding the spending money - I would suggest $20 per day for lunch and snacks. You
never know how much things will cost or what the girls will eat! All the entrances
are included so you don't have to worry about that. Have everyone take their money
in American dollar travelers checks - they can change them into Euros when they arrive,
either at the airport or at the hotels as needed. They really don't need any Euros
before they arrive. I am not aware of any place that will take American dollars. You may
also have them tuck away about $20 in cash for use at the airports in the U.S. in case
they need to make a call or pay for something else. It doesn't hurt to have some dollars
on hand."
Keep in mind that this does not include money for shopping. We should have opportunities for
shopping in Vienna, Linz, Czesky Krumlov, and possibly Salzburg.
* Shopping:
Keep in mind that the girls will need to travel as light as possible. Please do not send them
with extensive shopping lists.
