July 11: Travel to Erie, PA
Today has been a long one. We were ready for breakfast at 7:00. Unfortunately it was a bit late, so by the time we loaded the bus and bid farewell to John, our local host, it was 8:30 before we left Montreal. We made pretty good time and re-entered the U.S. around 12:00 noon. We stopped on the way for lunch at a mall (no shopping allowed), and got to Erie around 6:50.
After checking into the rooms, we had a buffet-style dinner in the restaurant. Then it was time for the Grace Moore girls to entertain the rest of us with skits and award presentations. Hillary and Susanna did a great job as emcees, and they invited a few of the Concert Choir girls to help them since the Grace Moore numbers were smaller than usual. The girls and chaperones alike really enjoyed the presentations, and there was a lot of laughter. Mrs. Tullock really seemed to enjoy her new Gere. The girls were in their rooms for lights out by 11:00. Tomorrow we are on to Columbus.
