2001 Tour: Niagara Falls and Canada

July 7: Niagara International Music Festival

The day started with breakfast, and then a bus ride to rehearsal for the massed concert tonight at Mountainview Christian Reformed Church. Amazingly, we don't even have to wake up some of the girls. They really get into a routine quickly!

After rehearsal, they returned to the college for lunch, and then either stayed at the college to swim or boarded busses to travel back to the falls to visit the Butterfly Conservatory or shop. The girls really seemed to enjoy the conservatory. They saw every type of butterfly imaginable. They would fly up and land right in front of you!

After a brief stop at the gift shop, we went back to the school, ate dinner, and departed for the massed concert. The massed chorus consisted of around 250 voices, and they were accompanied by a brass quintet. Dr. Martha Shaw conducted, and the music was glorious. Again, our girls really did us proud! After the concert, the girls were treated to ice cream at the church, and then we headed back to the school. After bidding farewell to Norm and Marlene, we turned in for the night.

[Note: E-mail access was not possible from the dorm in Niagara, so this journal entry was not received until the choir moved to their next stop on July 8.]
