2001 Tour: Niagara Falls and Canada

July 5: Niagara International Music Festival

We were up and ready for breakfast in the great hall at 7:00. The girls assembled outside our rooms to sing Happy Birthday to Penny Tullock. After breakfast, we gathered for the photos of the individual choir and the massed choir, and then the girls headed into sectional rehearsals. This gave the chaperones some much-needed unscheduled time until lunch.

After lunch we departed by bus for Port Dalhousie to tour and shop. The girls had a chance to ride the century-old carousel at a cost of only 5 cents, walk on the beach, browse through the shops, and visit the ice cream parlor and candy store. After this outing, it was back to the college in time for dinner, and then to the theatre for a concert. Half of the choirs performed for the other half of the choirs. This gave the girls a chance to realize how much better their musical training is than some of the other choirs. After the concert, it was back to the dorm for some refreshments, and then off to bed.

[Note: E-mail access was not possible from the dorm in Niagara, so this journal entry was not received until the choir moved to their next stop on July 8.]
